I can NOT get it together!

Okay, so ALL last week I kept forgetting to bring my camera so I could post about various things...
...well...this week ain't looking any better! Lol! I promise, one day this week, I will remember!

But, I do have a picture courtesy of my cell phone of what I did last night (get your mind outta the gutter people!)

So here...take a look-see...and be gentle..it's still growing on me..

I colored my hair...by...gasp! A BOX!

Thanks to my hubby...he was my stylist last night!

Birthday cake time!

So last Friday, my sister in law, Veronica, asked if I would make my niece's birthday cake, since she knew that I had made a few with my friend Sierra. I was so up for the challenge, especially since Sierra had surprised me with the first few essential supplies, right before she went home to Utah!

So, this being my first time around by myself I was a bit nervous, but bound and determined to make the cake! We started by trying to make homemade fondant..no biggie, my friend and I had done it, and it was pretty easy, and it tasted much better.

Well, it didn't work so well this time. It dried out and we were unable to use it. At this point Veronica started to freak out. I assured her it would be okay. So off to the store she went to buy already made fondant.

That worked and this particular kind didn't taste all that bad! In the end...this is what we ended up with... be kind, it was my first time going solo!

Bad day

I just have to say...I am not having that great of a day. I am off kilter. I have no clue what is going on, but there is a war raging inside of me, and I don't like it, nor can I even talk to anyone about it.

Blah! I am really just having a horrible day. And keep forgetting to bring my camera to show off the cake I made Friday night, plus all the other stuff that happened this weekend...it will probably be tomorrow before I post about all that!

Much love.

New Orleans - part 4 (the last installment!)

Okay, so here we are, finally at the last part of the trip!

After a weird night of sleep, not being interrupted by babies climbing in bed with us, Jason and I got up and headed down to the French Quarter for some of those yummy beignets at Cafe DuMonde I have heard so much about!

The food line and some of the servers taking a break...

Jay and I waiting on the scrumptious food!

Heaven!

After breakfast, we met up with our friends and took off down by the Mississippi..

Lot's of water..

A tugboat! The boys would have loved it!

The steamboat

For some reason in this picture, I look pregnant, but I can assure...I am not.

We then went to the aquarium...way cool...but I won't post a bunch of pictures of it, just a few that I think are blog worthy...

Stingrays crack me up..they look like they are smiling at you!

In the rain forest...

Can you imagine running into this guy??? Ew!
And we found Nemo! (hahahaha, snort!)

We lunched at Bubba Gumps afterwards, and it was great, the waitress, a bit annoying, but the food was awesome, as well as all the film memorabilia!

The most famous saying from the movie...
After a quick rest at the hotel, we hit up Bourbon one more time...

And we met this guy...

Yup, that's right, Santa vacays in The Big Easy, folks

We called it a night pretty early, then headed home the next morning...it was good to be back!

Much love.

New Orleans - part 3

Okay, I promise the trip is almost over...so where was I last...oh yes...Friday night!

After checking into Hotel St. Marie, we hopped a cab (you know cause my foot is fractured) to the Superdome to watch the Saints beat the Bengals. Normally, we wouldn't pay for a cab..we'd walk..because, oh you know, it's FREE!

Okay, so watching the meter going up is sad..we spent twenty bucks on a cab ride that was maybe 4 blocks away...nice.
Anyway...once at the game we found our seats... not too bad...

During half time, they brought out the little league football players..it was too cute!

Them little buggers were dodging, weaving and stiff armin' like the pros!

Halftime photo op!

We left the game at the start of the 4th quarter and walked...yes, walked back to the hotel. It wasn't great for my foot. We were then convinced to hit Bourbon with the couple we went with, because the husband had never been..okay, fine...off we went.

Now, just to set the record straight...I am not a big drinker. Four beers tops I had the entire weekend...it just isn't my thing.

But, the following pictures need no captions...just use your imagination

This last picture was weird...while waiting on the boys to use the restroom, my friend and I saw Elvis...I kid you not...the man is alive and well people!!

Bhahahahaha!!! Oh, and that is not my beer, I was holding it for Jay while he went potty. Sounds cliche', I know..but it's the truth.

And on that note...we called it a night... part four to come soon!

Much love.

Photo Booth Wednesday!

In honor of our trip to N.O., I took this really neat picture of Jay on Bourbon...I try not to write too much on these particular posts, because, well..I want the picture to speak for itself..so I need to stop...but I can't help myself!

..I call this is Jason's first album cover when he hits it big (yes, he can really sing, but he's too shy to try for a record deal!)

And another favorite...panoramic picture of the Superdome, courtesy of Jack (for some reason that's what I call the camera) and Jason, who held Jack while snapping the picture..

That's it for this edition of Photo Booth Wednesday! Y'all come back now, ya hear!

Much love.

New Orleans - take deaux! (ha ha ha!)

So, now that we had made it through Baton Rouge, we were eagerly awaiting the New Orleans signs!!

Here comes the Superdome, Home of the SAINTS!

And now for some random pictures as we made our way through all the one way streets trying to find our hotel. Jason got us there strictly on his memory, because the map we had was totally wrong. Jason hasn't been down in N.O. in like 8 years..so he was pretty proud that he remembered how to get to the French Quarter!

I had no idea payphones still existed...

"Clang, clang, clang goes the trolley..."

And finally, we arrived at our hotel!

More to come...plus, stay tuned for Photo Booth Wednesday!

Much love.

New Orleans - take 1

So here is the first installment of our New Orleans trip.

Friday we left about 11:30, after my sister got to the house (man she had a bad morning, but she is such a trooper!) So on the road we got...I am not much of a back seat rider, so it took me a bit to get comfortable, but I finally did. Jennifer and I ran our mouths like women do and once we rolled into Baton Rouge and hit 5 o'clock traffic....we got a little camera happy...

Red Stick

This was scary to see running up behind ya...

heading over the "Might Mississippi"...

The State Capitol

More to come...

Much love.
