Long time no blog!!

Yes, I know it's been since August 2011 since I've blogged, but I have a good excuse!!

I don't know what to say, I got lazy. And changed jobs again, and got into a nasty car accident.

So, to get you up to speed in a jiffy, here it goes....

February 2012 was my 1 year anniversary as an office manager at one  of our city's major hospital heart cath  lab...all is well there

March 2012 I turned 31....eek.

May 2012 was quite interesting, Colt graduated preschool, Jacob graduated kindergarten, and I managed to demolish my car with the help of a 18-wheeler!

July 2012 we moved from our house to an apartment on the southeast side of town, closer to both Jason's and mine jobs and we liked it better over here. Oh, and  I got a new car!

August 2012 Jacob is a first grader and Colt is a kindergartner at a school we love..and  they do too!

Of course we had Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas which were all fantastic. The start of a new year, some dental work for my 7 year old, lots of doctor visits for myself courtesy of the accident I promise to tell you about soon and, *GASP* I turned 32 in March!

Stay tuned, updates to come this week!!

Say WHAT!? Sunday

Everyone knows having children brings about some "kids say the darndest thing" moment, so to bring a little cheer to end of the weekend, I have instituted...

Say WHAT?? Sunday.....where I will re-cap the things that have passed the lips of my boys...hope it brings a smile to your face!

Jacob..."Colt, you're a loser"
Colt... "No I am not, I'm pretty good at killing bugs!"

"What's in that bucket?" Maybe a unicorn that was a baby."

"I can't wait to grow up, because I'm gonna buy a lot of candy."

"I have to go potty." "No wait, I don't...I was just kidding."

Just a sampling of what comes out of their mouth....check back next Sunday to see what they've come up with!

What can I say?

I have two boys...ages 4 and 5..

..and by no means do I think that I am the only mom out there with this particular situation, but my boys do the following:

run a muck around the house

fart on each other

fart on me

say the word fart ALL the time (and yes, I said it just now but I am trying to get a point across.)

burp

pick their nose (a trait inherited from their daddy)

spank their own hineys

pick fights with each other

pee ALL over the toliet seat

pee in the trash can

pee on the floor

chase squirels like they're dogs

see who can beat who to wherever it is they're going

BUT

it keeps me entertained....even though sometimes I end up sitting down on the pee'd on toliet seat in the middle of the night.

Long week

It seems to have been a long week for me. My grandfather suffered another heart attack Sunday and was transported to the VA hospital here in town. At first, it was just pneumonia. He is 89 years old, the man has been through a lot....he's tired now..but still spry.

He has only has about 20% of his heart working for him...there isn't much they can do except just let him live. It was kind of a whirlwhind...lots of famiy involved that we havent talked to or seen in years..and just nonesense because grandma and grandpa do not want any help..

...what can you say...they are set in their ways.

I have many things running through my mind that I will never be able to get out.. not all bad things, just things I don't think anyone I know will comprhend. I've been thinking a lot, just thinking.

About a year later

This blog has been abandoned for over a year now.

At that point I had just gotten out of school and started a new line of work as a Medical Assistant....at an Internal Medicine clinic, and at a Cardiology clinic. I just recently changed jobs again to work as the office manager in a local hospitals cath lab. What is that? Heart catheterization is when you insert a catheter into the chamber or vessels of the heart, for informative or interventional purposes. Basically, any blockages in your arteries will be found this way, and fixed if over a certain percentage..

I have always had an interest in cardiology, so this seemed like a good fit. Even though I am not doing much clinical work, I am becoming more familiar with the cardiac system every day. This also gives me a good lead into becoming a nurse in the cath lab, once my my nursing degree is done..which should be in about two years if all goes according to planned.

No other major changes, my boys are still wild and unruly, now 5 and 4. I can't complain much. Good to be back....

Missing in action

Bet you though I had fallen off the face of the earth, huh?

Well, I kinda did. I have had a lot of changes lately. The biggest one was leaving my job at the law firm of 9 years to start my externship as a Medical Assistant.

Yup, that means I finished school! I am currently working at a local practice, with my last day actually being Monday. I have had one interview, another one scheduled for next week, and I have dropped off/faxed several resumes. There will be more job offers come next week when my school can start sending me out to their "top secret" employers.

The one job I have already interviewed for is really where I want to go..what I have always wanted to do...OB/GYN. One day, I will be a labor/delivery nurse, that's just what I have set out to do. This particular job just happens to be at my personal OB's office. Not for him, but one of his partners, which is fine. Weird events took place for this...see, my OB's wife happens to be my boys' pediatrician, who initially kicked my butt into gear to finishing my schooling. So, I called her up to talk to her hubby that night to see if it could help me out.

In the meantime, I too called the hubby (at his office mind you) to speak with him about it. I got his nurse who told me to fax a personal copy of my resume to the office manager, so I did. Well, all that was on a Friday. Come Monday, the OB was calling me and telling me to call his office manager personally and speak with her, as he had already spoken to her about me...awesome! Well, come to find out...the office manager is a client of one of the attorney's I worked for...weird...the receptionist I talked to was a lady I used to work with at a doctor's office several years ago, who also put in a good word for me. More awesom-er!

I interviewed and it was great. I won't know anything until this week...the thing is, I may not get it because I don't have my registration yet and won't get it until May. This particular practice says they can't hire you unless you have it...but, I think that might not be entirely true. We will just have to see.

The good thing...the person who will be filling in until they find someone is already on staff there, but will be leaving in August, so technically they have until then to hire someone...that's what the office manager told me....

...so, I am hoping that all the stars will align and that job will fall in my lap.

So there, that is that.

My baby Colty had a birthday (as did I) he turned 3 and I, turned...ahem, 29.

I just can't believe it!
