Halloween monster jars

I have been sitting on this project for 2 weeks....why?? Because I didn't have the jars just lying around to do them!

I figured since Halloween was next weekend, I had to get them done today! Besides, I really wanted to do them ever since saw them over at Emily's blog. These things popped up all over the Internet!

So, I set out to find my jars...and find them I did! At our local Goodwill Store! Yay! So, without further adue here they are all it up....because I just got done with them at 10 pm! I will take a picture of them in the light tomorrow...I did something cool with the tops of the pumpkin ones!

This is what it looked like first...

And after...

I just wrapped some twine around the top part and secrued it with the hot glue gun! Love it!

Here they are chillin' on the mantle in the daylight...

I am enjoying watching them flicker in the dark with the LED tea lights I put in them!

Sooooo spooky!! Love it!

A pumpkin patch kinda day!

We took the boys to a local pumpkin patch today, (of course after the Saints BEAT the Giants, holy cow!)

Anyway, Sug, Pop and Layla met us there for the fun!

Looky looky!!

I finished a project!

And it only took me 40 11 hundred billion days!

And actually...I am not finished. I need to get some eye screws to screw into the top of it, then thread some ribbon or rope or something through them so I can hang it on my door!

I found some cute Halloween scrapbook paper and I already had a piece of wood (12 in).

I just mod podged the heck out of it, slapped the paper on there, and my friend Sierra cut the vinyl for me (until I can get my own machine, she is my saving grace for this stuff!)

Sarah's blog was my inspiration! Thanks girl!

Voila!

Halloween/fall decor-coffee table arrangment

I don't have very many pictures, only two..but this is what I have on my limited budget...which is pretty much stuff I have had for the last two falls...

First, I have been reading on blogs about the infamous coffee table decor, you know the whole "used books with a floral arrangement and some other type of element" decor? Forgive me, but I can't remember which blogs blogged about it.

So, I took some old law books and tore them up like my friend Sarah did here except, I haven't covered mine yet...and I may never get around to it!

Here is my coffee table..(excuse the dirty table)
And here is my mantle...it needs help...I love the brick, I really do...I don't think I want to cover it like a lot of people do...and I am sure I don't want to paint it either. I like the natural element it has. But, I do need a new frame for the fireplace and that old oak mantle is calling out to me to be painted or something! I am mulling over several possibilities..any suggestions are welcome...

I have other fall decor on the shelves on either side of the fireplace, but not enough to take pictures of. I am still working on building up my Halloween/fall decor..Christmas seems to be where my abundance is...

Retouching photos

Have you heard about the Ralph Lauren uproar? This photo of a model whose head is bigger than her waist?! It looks pretty freaky...

Did you know that in the UK they have banned the art of retouching to a certain extent? I for one, agree! I am tired of seeing all this people on the covers of magazines looking like a million bucks, especially when you know they just popped out a baby or something!

You know what I want to see? I want to see a mom who has worked 8-5, comes home to kids, does dinner, homework and baths on the cover..in ALL her spaghetti sauce covered, soaked hair, mascara running, hair all-a mess, glory! Oh, and don't forget the dark circles under her eyes and the blemish that popped up the night before!

Now that is what I want to see. I would be the first in line to buy that magazine to read about that woman's life...if it weren't already my own!

Update on boys and cowboy bathroom

I admit it, I have been busy lately and haven't been paying attention to my blog..I am sorry! I have tons I want to blog about, but my thoughts are scattered at the moment!

I am happy to report that Colt had his well check up after his hospital stay and is a well boy now! My oldest had a dentist appointment this morning and has his first (small) cavity. We go back towards to end of the month to fill it...fun.

This project isn't much, but it's something. I painted and sanded this shelf for the boy's bathroom (although you can't tell I sanded it in the picture). I found an old belt buckle of Jason's from waaaaaaaay back in the day to use as decor, but that's all I got right now.

So without further adue..

One more view...
