Home Sweet Home!

We finally made it home late yesterday afternoon from "The Big Easy."

I have never been so glad to be back from a vacation! It wasn't bad at all, it was just the first time we have left the boys, since they were born! I missed them terribly!

As I mentioned in my previous post, we took in a Saints game (which they won) toured Bourbon Street after the game and went back to the hotel to sleep! Saturday was filled with sight seeing and picture taking and about 2 hours on Bourbon, which at that time, Jason and I decided we didn't want to stay out. I am not much on going out, and Jason has already had his fill years ago, so it really wasn't all that great to us, but we did enjoy ourselves!

Sunday was our day of departure. We had breakfast, stopped in a shop to pick up souvenirs for the boys, and headed back to Shreveport. That had to have been the longest ride of my life! I don't do the backseat very good, so I was feeling too great on the way home. I survived though and when I saw my boys finally, I felt much better!

The Big Easy!

Can you guess where I am going???

Yup, you guessed it...New Orleans!

Jay and I are taking a weekend to ourselves (and another couple we know) to spend some quality time together. We are taking in a Saints preseason game Friday night, then off to Cafe DuMonde Saturday morning for beignet and anything we want to do for the rest of the day!

I will be meeting up with my girl Kimber to say "howdy," and get a copy of a loverly Kimber original photo she took (awesome and thanks!)

The boys will be with my sister (which they are sooooo excited about) and we will be back Sunday to pick up right where we left off! We told Jacob that we were taking the trip to have some "mommy and daddy" time so that we could come back and be a better mommy and daddy to him and Colt. He was totally fine with that, because all he heard was that Aunt Layla was coming to take care of them! He loooooooooves Aunt Layla!

I am looking forward to getting some really good pictures while we are there. Not only of N.O. but also of me and Jay. I have been wanting some really off the wall artsy fartsy pictures of us (and the boys).

Anyway...we can't wait to get there, and I am sure we won't be able to wait to get back! You know how that is!

Soooo....I probably won't be blogging over the weekend, just fyi! But I will have plenty to share after the trip!

We came across Miley Cyrus' new clothing line in Walmart the other day, and the boys saw these "cowboy hats" they called them, and just had to try them out!

If it ain't broke...don't fix it...

**EDIT** I forgot that I didn't say just how I did this to my foot...
I was trying to dig up a dead bush my husband was working this past weekend, that's why I tackled it) and when I went to jump on the shovel to get it in the ground, my left foot rolled off the side of the shovel, causing me to lose my balance, then causing me to again roll my left foot, causing me to full right on my rump. Instant pain people!
I was able to send Jacob next door to get our neighbor (who also happens to be a friend) to come help me inside, while I called Jason.

That's how it happened!

Yup, that's what they told me. I have fractured two metatarsals (a fancy word for foot bones) in my left foot. And all they can do is put me in a post-op shoe to evenly distribute the weight when I walk on it.


She's a beaut, huh? Yeah, I know you're jealous.

You can't see the swelling all that well, but if you look at the outside of my foot, you can see a little bulge...that would be the "broken" part...

Loverly, huh?

1. Sleep-the good Lord KNOWS I love me some sleep!! Even though I don't get it much, I still love it!!

3. Crafting-I have been crafting and making like crazy on the weekends, cause ya know, that is the only time that I have to do things like that! My mind is swimming with ideas!!

4. My boys-how could you not be obsessed with those heathens?! Juuuust kidding, they are angels!

5. Dr. Pepper-seriously, I have a problem. I drink at minimum three 20 oz. a day...that is the LEAST I drink. Obsession doesn't cover it!

"Not me Monday!"

Welcome to another edition of MckMama's "Not me Monday!"

So without further adue...

I did not hurt my foot to a black and blue pulp yesterday trying to dig up a dead bush, nope not me! And I certainly did not go to the local ER to try and get it taken care of, because we all know that the ER is only for for people who have runny noses...nope not me!

I did not forget to do one chapter of homework that is due tonight due to all my efforts of trying to juggle being a mom, wife and individual...nope, not me!

I also did not attend a high school reunion that was pretty much not a reunion due the fact that all the people there pretty much talk to each other on a daily basis...not me!!

And lastly, I did not feed my boys peanut butter and jelly for every meal the weekend, because that would mean I don't know how to cook...nope not me at all!

10 years already?

Tonight kicks off the first of two night of my 10 year high school reunion. Tonight will be the fun casual night at a local sports restaurant, and tomorrow is the upscale, wear-your-favorite-cocktail-dress night at a local hotel ballroom.

I regret that I will not be going to the fancy night, because sitters like to back out on you at the last minute and, I do not have a cocktail dress.

So, I will be going to the much more relaxed wear-your-favorite-tube-top, night of the reunion. Which is fine by me, because I'm not so much on the fancy stuff. I mean every now and then (which would be now) but, I'll just have to wait for another time to get all gussied up.

I do have some other pictures that I can share, but let me say this...there is one picture that was my mother's idea, not mine. It's a cute picture, but I was not keen on it...AND she put it that picture in my senior ad in the back of the yearbook. Well, luckily no one gave to much of a hard time about it, and I survived. Also, I was much skinner 10 years ago...

...so here's to 10 years...
