Hair!

I hate fixing my hair...I am such a low maintenance type of girl, it ain't even funny! I guess that is why God gave me boys..because let's face it, if I had a girl, her hair would look nothing like a sweet little girl's hair should look! I didn't even branch out with my hair until my late 20's, getting all kinds of brave and cutting it short and whatnot.

So, I do not even attempt to blow dry my hair with it being summer in good ol' Louisiana...instead I use a combination of salt and water in a spray bottle to make that "I just came from the beach" impression on my hair. Or, if you like, you can purchase this from Bumble & Bumble (http://www.bumbleandbumble.com/),
it's basically the same thing, just in a way cuter bottle...and just a bit more pricey...

If you do decide to go the cheap route and just use regular salt and water, I advise that you give your hair a nice treatment at least once a week, because the salt can dry out and damage your hair.

Soooo, that's usually my hair care regimen for the summer, it's so much easier than standing under a hot hair dryer, when the temperature outside is 100 degrees at 7:30 in the morning! I am still perfecting the look though...

...it'd be much easier if I just had a beach outside my window...

"Not me Mondays"

There is a blog I read pretty often, it is funny, charming, excitable....human. Please take a moment to hop over there and read it...but AFTER you read about this lovely little thing MckMama has started...

Not me Monday
Are you feeling ashamed for letting your child go to bed without brushing his teeth...again!? Did you eat a Snickers bar during a meeting without anyone knowing? Do you pretend that my Tweets are really urgent messages when you receive them on your cell phone? Are you feeling embarrassed that you kicked the dog?

We'll don't be. Not Me! Monday was born out of a desire to admit some of our imperfections and reveal a few moments we'd rather forget. Why? Well, for one, because it's just plain fun to pretend that we really did not do the things that we actually so did do. And, two, because reading through great tales of other people's Not Me! Mondays each week is a great way to level the playing field. We're all human, we all take embarrassing shortcuts, and so we may as well show each other that we're all in good company!

So let it all hang out...leave me a comment, let me know your "Not me's!"

I did not sit at my desk for an hour this morning pretending to work, while I was actually catching up on some much need Zzzz's....nope, not me!
Oh, and I did not walk around Wal-Mart yesterday this weekend with two screaming kids in the buggy and never got onto them..nope..not me!!

Lake day!

The boys had their first trip to the lake over the July 4th weekend...not that we are avid lakers, but we have a friend who invited us out on his boat with his family, so we decided to give it a whirl...enjoy the few pictures I was able to upload!

Jacob and Colt had a great time, although they were a little unsure about getting in the lake. I must admit, I am not much of a lake swimmer either (something about not being able to see what's going on under the water creeps me out) but, I braved it for my boys!

Jason just stayed in the boat and observed...you can see his observation face in the first picture! Hahaha!

Yes, I am flat out exhausted!! Working 8-5 Monday through Friday, then going to school 5:30-10:30 Monday through Thursday has me completely zombified!! This is a typical morning at the office after a late night at school...



Okay, so I don't drink coffee. Replace that with a Dr. Pepper and that's what you see...oh, and remove that little ear/mouth piece thing too...




Even so, I am still going full force. It is a change that has needed to be made for quite some time now and I am happy to report that I am doing really good in my classes. Although, I do miss my boys terribly. I miss bedtime, I miss sitting on the couch winding down, I miss dinner, I miss them begging for treats..I miss telling them NO...lol...ok, I don't deprive them..but it was getting rather depressing as I was saying all the things I miss!


I miss them. Period. I even miss... gasp... Jason! You know it's bad when you miss your honey! I just miss them all. Jason is doing really good being a single parent 4 nights a week. I think it has been really good for him, actually no....it HAS been really good for him..and the boys...and for me.

Michael Jackson 1958-2009

There are no words to describe the loss the music industry has suffered. Much like learning of Elvis' passing, the news of Michael Jackson's death has shocked us all.



He did something extrodinary for the music industry, again just like Elvis. MJ will be deeply missed, regardless of his personal trials and troubles, he was a music man whose songs and lyrics will linger in us forever!

Let us also not forget the passing of Farrah Fawcet and Ed McMahon. Such great losses in the entertainment industry this week!

School days!

So what, it's been like a month since I have last blogged!!!!!!! I can't even imagine the thoughts that people must be having (i.e., I am laying in a ditch somewhere, vanished into thin air, etc.!)

Well, I can assure you that I am alive and well! I may not be fully functional, but I am alive!
The last thing that happened was my PC at the office was blown up. Well, TA-DA! I finally got it! Okay, so I have had it for a while...but just haven't blogged. And don't even ask me why I don't blog at home...seriously, have you ever been to my house??? Yeah...it ain't happening!

So, I lost a friend (to a move, not death) gained some much needed confidence, got a swift kick in the butt and am now going back to school for my MA (medical assistants license) and will be finished with that after an externship in January. Hopefully then, I will be hired on at my pediatrician's office (the swift kick) and be a happy camper!!

I am in school Monday through Thursdays, 5:30-10:30 and Jason is at home with the boys playing single parent. Last night was our first run of this and everyone did well! I am so happy to have his support, along with the rest of my family. My mom even put a binder with paper and pens together for me after I told her I hadn't gotten a notebook to even take notes on the first day! Lol...it's been a long time since I stepped foot into a classroom!

I am super excited and and will keep you all updated! I am going to try and post once a week just to keep this up! Please hang tight, as I am still adjusting to my new schedule!
